Department Description
The Department of Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies is concerned with preparing scientifically and practically qualified engineers to protect digital systems, networks, and information infrastructures from increasing cyber threats and attacks. The department focuses on designing, developing, and implementing advanced security solutions, analyzing vulnerabilities and threats, applying ethical hacking techniques, cryptography, risk management, and incident response. It also contributes to supporting secure digital transformation and enhancing the reliability of information systems in governmental and private institutions.
Department Mission
The Department of Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies seeks to prepare specialized engineering competencies capable of designing, developing, and managing advanced cybersecurity systems that keep pace with global technological developments through an educational and research environment that encourages innovation and effective partnerships with academic and industrial institutions, contributing to community service and the protection of information and data security.

To become a leading and distinguished Department of Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies at both national and regional levels in preparing highly qualified engineers equipped with theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to protect digital systems and information infrastructures and contribute effectively to strengthening cybersecurity systems and supporting a secure digital economy.
Graduate Description and Department Objectives
The department aims to graduate engineers capable of analyzing, designing, and effectively implementing modern security solutions while keeping pace with rapid developments in cybersecurity. The objectives of the department are as follows:
- Graduating engineers with advanced technical skills in network security, data protection, and cyber risk analysis and management.
- Preparing modern educational programs aligned with international academic standards and local and global labor market requirements.
- Supporting scientific research and development in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cryptography, and digital forensics.
- Promoting cybersecurity awareness and its importance among students, institutions, and society.
- Building strategic partnerships with governmental and private sectors to exchange expertise and provide practical training opportunities.
- Contributing to achieving national information security and supporting secure digital transformation in the Republic of Iraq.
